What an Incredible Disability Awareness Day!

Compilation of photos from DAD event with the words: 34th Annual Disabilitiy Awareness Day

We had an amazing time celebrating with hundreds of people at the 34th Annual Disability Awareness Day! The event was held on Saturday, October 25, at the beautiful Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza at Lorenzi Park, where dozens of local service providers came together to share resources, support, and community connection.

The day was filled with energy, education, and plenty of fun — especially thanks to the awesome dance performance by Kiss is 4 Kidz!

A heartfelt thank-you to our inspiring speakers, who made the day even more meaningful:

  • U.S. Representative Dina Titus

  • Jennifer A. Winder, CTRS, Department of Parks and Recreation – Adaptive Programming

  • Anabella Rivera, CARE Chest

  • Allen Gilbert, Nevada Assistive Technology Resource Center

  • Jim Shampoe, Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada

  • Monica Lopez–Morales, Auraclispe LLC and RESET (Recognizing Epilepsy & Seizure Education & Training)

  • Salvatore Fiorentino, CSD for Deaf and Hard of Hearing

We are grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, shared resources, or simply came to enjoy the day. Events like this shine a light on the power of community, inclusion, and connection.Stay tuned for details on next year’s event!
